Theoretically this is happening! Comedy will live.
Join us as Newcastle raises the curtain on the Newcastle Comedy Festival!
Kicking off a weeklong celebration of non-stop comedy with an amazing line-up of the festival’s funniest international stars, homegrown legends and next-big-things in comedy.
A comedic smorgasbord featuring the crème de la crème of the festival! Appearing in a jam-packed, two hour show.
My pals Alex Dyson, Kyran Wheatley and Rhys Nicholson have set up a brand new comedy venue in Melbourne. Bloody good on ’em, I say.
It’s called Comedy Republic and I’ll be there on Saturday July 18th but if you hate me (fair enough) please just generally check the room out and support it because SURELY THE WORLD NEEDS LAUGHTER NOW MORE THAN EVER.

I’m a lucky duck and have been presented with the Pinder Prize, named in honour of Australian comedy institution and glasses aficionado John Pinder. This is a huge honour that will allow me to take my show The World Keeps Happening to the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Hot DANG.
Please watch this space for more details. If you’d like to check out my full wrap up of my time at MICF 2016, check out my blog for TheMusic.com.au here.
Here’s another guest I managed to snag whilst in Perth: 17-year-old (!!!) writer and visual artist Somayra Ismailjee.
Somayra is of Karen, Gujarati and Kashmiri heritage and has written for Right Now, New Matilda, Media Diversified, Junkee and many other publications on matters of race, political correctness, Islamaphobia, queer rights and Charlie Hebdo. Here we cover everything from Coldplay and cultural appropriation to the power of the UPF in Perth to trigger warnings and orientalism. Plus Somayra was even kind enough to teach me a new word.
The World Keeps Happening is in Adelaide now, coming to Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney
