ARI-AAAAAAARGH

Chuffed to say that Tom and Alex: The Bits We’re Least Ashamed Of has been nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped make it, everyone who’s taken the time to buy a copy and Hamish and Andy for not putting anything out this year.

If you don’t have it yet (understandable) you can order it online here.

The Albini Letter

Letters of Note is a way cool website and they just posted this letter from producer Steve Albini to Nirvana just before they signed the deal for In Utero. I fucking love it, well worth a  read.

Thanks, Tim Minchin

Welcome To Australia

Stoked to be an ambassador for Welcome To Australia, a non-for-profit organisation aimed at fostering a culture of welcome for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants coming to our country. I think they’re pretty bloody tops.

You can see my ambassador page here, you can keep up with what WTA events here and you can even donate to the very worthy cause if you like.

The Brutal Truth

Over on radiotoday.com.au, they’re running a series called The Brutal Truth, about the relationship between stand up comedy and radio. I chipped in my two cents, which were promptly dwarfed by the millions of cents by the likes of Tony Martin and Dave O’Neil and Marty Sheargold and Wendy Harmer and Tom Gleeson.

Interesting reading if it’s your thang.

NYWF 2013

I’m doing some things at the 2013 Nation Young Writers Festival in Newcastle in the first weekend of October. They will be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.

I’m doing a reading at a show called First Time For Everything (Friday October 4th, 8-10pm), a reading at a show called Hi, Heartbeak (Oct 4th, 11pm – midnight) and appearing at a panel entitled How Not To Be A Douche (Saturday October 5th, 2:30-3:30pm).

If you don’t want any of that, there’s heaps of cool other stuff going down, worth checking out the site if you’re in the area.
